Issara in the Thai language describes the element of freedom and liberation as the lotus blossom arises from the water and moves towards the sunlight. Issara symbolizesthe purity and determination of body, mind, and spirit to bring harmony into all life.
My name is Sirichai. I am a yoga instructor and founder of Issara Yoga. My journey with yoga began in my homeland of Thailand on the beaches of Trang. I began practicing seriously in 2003 with a Yoga Guru Sanya Tukwun from India. Since then, I have studied numerous forms including Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Yin Yoga, and Vinyasa. It is when I began teaching 10 year ago, I found my own integrated path that I call Issara Yoga.
Embracing the strength of that lotus blossom – Issara Yoga combines my knowledge of western anatomy with my root knowledge of multiple yoga disciplines,Thai massage, Tai-Chi breathing, and meditation into a holistic practice designed for both the novice and the long-time practitioner.
5 years ago, I gave up the sun-filled life of Southeast Asia for love and moved to New York City. Today, Paris is my home. In this unfolding journey, I have traveled the world, from Peru to the Seychelles, Los Angeles to Sumatra, carrying Issara Yoga with me everywhere.
My practice is my spiritual compass, a point of wisdom, an interdependence of light and breath and movement. I hope to share it with you.
